No. The default flow uses PressGo's own built-in AI. You describe a page in WordPress → PressGo → AI Builder and chat with it as it builds. Free accounts get 10 generations every month. Beyond that, it's $15 for a 75-credit pack or $12/mo for the 100-credit Plus plan. Connecting your own Claude or Cursor (MCP) is an OPTIONAL advanced mode for users who already have those subscriptions.

Yes. The default AI Builder flow doesn't require any external AI account. Everything runs through PressGo's own API. You only need Claude or Cursor if you want the optional MCP chat mode. Customers in regions where Claude isn't available use the built-in flow with full functionality.

When you need more: $15 one-time pack (75 credits, never expires) or $12/mo Plus (100 credits + unlimited MCP). No surprises. Chatting with the AI is always free. You only spend a credit when the AI actually changes the page.

Generate (default): you type a description in WordPress, our AI builds the page. Simple, one-shot, no setup beyond pasting your API key. MCP (advanced): you connect your own Claude or Cursor and chat with the AI conversationally. Refine sections, iterate live in the Elementor editor, and more. Same plugin, two ways in. Most users start with Generate and stay there.

Plus ($12/mo) is for power users running the MCP chat workflow. It adds site-wide custom header and footer (consistent chrome across all your pages), a higher screenshot quota for the watch URL, and priority support. If you're using the default Generate flow, you don't need Plus. Credit packs cover you.

PressGo requires WordPress 6.0+ and Elementor 3.10+ (free or Pro). It works with any theme that supports Elementor.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard Claude Desktop, Cursor, and other AI clients use to talk to external tools. If you already have a Claude subscription and want a chat-driven workflow, PressGo is also an MCP server. You connect your AI client to your WordPress site once, and chat sessions can build/edit pages live. This is the optional mode. The default Generate mode does NOT require MCP or Claude.
